Portfolio

Tattoo Studio Pro provides a public portfolio for your studio, a visual gallery of all active team work that clients can browse. Portfolios are managed per team member and displayed together on a public page.

New in v4.2: The public portfolio share link and embed code moved out of the old “Settings > Portfolio” page and into the unified Settings > Sharing page (Portfolio accordion). Bookmarks to /settings/portfolio redirect there automatically. The portfolio itself (the public-facing gallery, the images, and per-team portfolio management) is unchanged.

What Is the Portfolio?

The public portfolio shows all active team portfolios in a visual grid. Clients can:

  • Browse work by all artists or filter by specific artist
  • View images full-screen
  • See which artist created each piece

The portfolio is accessible without a login at a URL like:

https://app.tattoostudiopro.com/gallery/[your-studio-id]

It also appears on the mobile kiosk Home screen via the “Portfolios” button.

Managing a Team Member’s Portfolio

Enable/Disable Portfolio

Each team member’s portfolio can be toggled on or off:

  1. Go to Staff, open a team member’s profile
  2. Find the Portfolio section in the profile
  3. Toggle “Enable Portfolio” on or off
  4. When enabled, their work appears in the public portfolio

Portfolio Editor

  1. Enable the portfolio toggle
  2. Click/tap “Portfolio Editor” to open the editor
  3. Add, remove, and reorder portfolio images
  4. Click “Save Portfolio” when done. Changes are not saved automatically.

Web (Portfolio Editor page at /staff/portfolio/[uid]):

  • Upload images (JPG, PNG)
  • Drag images to reorder
  • Click delete to remove an image
  • Click Save Portfolio to commit changes

Mobile (Portfolio Editor):

  • Tap “Upload Photos” to add images from your device
  • Use the left and right arrow buttons next to each image to reorder
  • Tap remove/delete to remove an image
  • Save when done

Who Can Edit Portfolios?

  • Web: Only managers can enable, disable, or edit portfolios. Non-manager team members cannot edit their own portfolio on web.
  • Mobile: Managers can edit any team member’s portfolio. Team members can edit their own portfolio.

This is one of the few places where the web and mobile permissions differ. Mobile portfolio editing for team members is coming to the web app in a future update.

Reordering Portfolios (Team Management Page)

The Team Management page shows a portfolio grid. You can reorder which team member appears first:

Web: Drag and drop portfolio cards to reorder, then click “Save Portfolio order” to commit. Changes do not auto-save.

Mobile: Use the left and right arrow buttons next to each portfolio to move items. The new order is held in local storage on the device, but you still need to click “Save Portfolio order” to push the change to the server.

The order here determines how team portfolios appear on the public page.

Sharing the Public Portfolio

Go to Settings > Sharing and expand the Portfolio accordion to get your sharing options:

  • Unique URL for your studio’s portfolio
  • Copy with one click
  • Preview in a new window

Embed on Website (iframe)

  1. Go to Settings > Sharing
  2. Expand the Portfolio accordion
  3. Click “Copy Code” next to the embed snippet
  4. Paste the iframe code into your website’s HTML
  5. Portfolio grid appears directly on your page
  6. Fully responsive and mobile-friendly

The embed URL now includes ?embed=1 so the embedded portfolio renders without the studio header or logo. That makes it a clean fit on third-party websites, where you usually already have your studio branding in place.

The portfolio updates automatically as team members add, remove, or reorder images.

Client View (Kiosk)

On the mobile kiosk Home screen, clients can tap “Portfolios” to browse team work.

From the portfolio browser, clients see a grid of all artists. Tapping an artist opens that artist’s dedicated page with their full work. There’s no in-place filter to switch between artists; clients navigate by going back to the artist grid and choosing a different one.

Inside an artist’s page:

  • Tap any image to view it full-screen
  • Swipe left/right to browse images
  • Pinch to zoom on the full-screen viewer

Troubleshooting

Portfolio link shows blank / no artists

  • Verify at least one team member has a portfolio enabled (Team Management > Profile > Enable Portfolio)
  • Ensure that team member has uploaded at least one image
  • Check that team member status is Active
  • Refresh and try again

Images not uploading

  • Check file type (JPG or PNG only)
  • Verify file isn’t too large
  • Check internet connection
  • Refresh and try again

Embed code not showing portfolio on website

  • Ensure embed code was copied completely (including both <iframe> tags)
  • Some website builders (Squarespace, Wix, etc.) restrict iframes, check your platform’s settings
  • Verify your portfolio URL is accessible (test in a browser)
  • Try adjusting the height if content appears cut off

Reorder not saving

  • Reorder is NOT auto-saved. After dragging or using the arrow buttons, click “Save Portfolio order” (Team Management page) or “Save Portfolio” (Portfolio Editor) to commit the change.
  • Check internet connection
  • Refresh after saving to confirm the order persisted
